Help!

MDF or WOOD? This is my biggest question these days. From my research, MDF is quite strong with the laminate finish. Wood is sharp in it's edges but can chip. The profile I've picked closest resemble the first photo with modern simple stainless steel handles - MDF. Am I making a mistake????

Back in Action!

I'll admit, it was a gloomy over-cast day when I took these photos, but they still make me happy. Now that the holidays are over, we're back in action. As hubby wrestles down a price for drywall and insulation, I'm working with the kitchen designer, who is also doing the Laundry Room, Family Room built-ins, library/den shelving and all washrooms in the house, save the powder room (where we'll have a bit of fun).

We've just picked the colours of the soffit, fascia and trim, which basically matches the windows...

Now, we are choosing from samples of stained shingles for the peaks (can't wait to see them!)

The stucco is done, but we wait until Spring to paint it. I'm thinking the birch looks a little unhealthy. My friend says they shed the dead branches themselves. I'll have to investigate how to invigorate them. It would be sad to lose it.

Messy, but GRRRRREAT!!!!

Can you fall in love with stone? Sadly, I have. I feel it's one of the best decisions we made.  This is Rolling Rock's Foxfield Blend. Luckily, we have a little left over to do post at the ends of the driveway.

Definitely veering towards traditional cedar shingles in the peaks and stucco on the dormer window on the 2nd floor.

The door won't be red - this is just a base. Colour suggestions anyone? we are now deciding on holding, trim, soffit etc colour AND siding and stucco. Whew!

Little whoops here. Lou needs to fix the curved drop on the porch ceiling, so we'll be able to see the lovely cedar going up beneath. The sidelight (windows of the door) panels (one third up) still have to be added.

Back yard side door entrance...

Panelled Stucco around the Sunroom. Deciding whether or nor to go cedar shingle for the dormer. I think so.
